This week was one of the busiest ever at Thrifty Beatnik but it is also the week that I can confidently say that, unless part of a lovely three piece suit , that the waistcoat is dead. Indeed the irony of the FLA song is evident. I love a waistcoat but since, like the trilby, it has been adopted by cretins I see no place for it until it can be reclaimed by a credible source. Obviously your Tom Waits and Nick Cave types get a pass but for high street casualwear in 09/10 sorry waistcoats your time is up.
